Some ~50 years ago, one of my intoxicated fraternity brothers stole a battery from this gas station in the hopes of trading it for beer in Colorado. None of us (~25 guys on a charter bus) were aware of the larceny until it was too late to insist that this lad reconsider his lapse of judgement.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03001996974959624363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5398633296962611892.post-84145068590395669102020-04-04T09:43:47.965-07:002020-04-04T09:43:47.965-07:00I’m Jon’s sister, Leatha. I was named after my great grandmother, Leatha Armstrong who died in the accident.

Our father, Harry Most, married Shirley Brush and they raised 8 children, 7 boys and one girl. Dad graduated from Briarcrest Bible College in Alberta Canada. My Mom and Dad eventually ended up living in North Platte, then Hershey and later Brady, all in Nebraska.

Dad was very proud of his roots and history. He told me the story of how he and his younger sister, Glenda, wanted to cross the highway. It was much more heavily traveled back then because the interstate 80 was not yet built. He told her okay let’s go and he went and she didn’t. Then she started to cross and he ran back to save her from crossing because she would have been hit! Even after many decades of that incredible incident, my Dad had scared eyes just from telling me the story. I’m so glad we still have Aunt Glenda and her sister Aunt Sharron!Leatha Hanszhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06727935132578442048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5398633296962611892.post-90393812523330778022020-04-02T18:42:08.211-07:002020-04-02T18:42:08.211-07:00My great grandfather, Henrique Most, was one of th...My great grandfather, Henrique Most, was one of the primary builders of the Roscoe grain elevator. He homesteaded south of town in the late 1800's. My grandmother was raised by her Aunt Hettie Chamberlin after her mother died. My grandfather, Harry Most Sr., had a blacksmith shop in the collapsed building east of the Chamberlin building. I believe the building directly east of the Chamberlin building was know as Most Hall. My dad and his sisters were born in the back room there. My dad, Harry Most Jr., was born in 1935 and he died just this past December, 2019. There were a lot of rattle snakes close to town back then. Some even came inside. My dad was playing with matches and started a grass fire that potentially could have burned the town down if it weren't for some quick thinking townfolk! My name is Jon Most and I live in Brady, NE, another quaint little town of about 430 residents.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5398633296962611892.post-68504396568927558392017-12-18T22:42:16.540-08:002017-12-18T22:42:16.540-08:00I actually used to visit my grandparents when I wa...I actually used to visit my grandparents when I was little every Sunday and we would have fun miss those days like crazyAJnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5398633296962611892.post-19550117682703713582017-03-22T21:35:41.660-07:002017-03-22T21:35:41.660-07:00Thank you!
